Join thousands of friends at the Global Mala Yoga for Peace Ritual—six hours of sacred movement and music featuring inspiring teachers and musicians.  The Sanskrit word “mala” usually refers to the strand of prayer beads used in counting repetitions of prayers during meditation.  It can also describe a series of yoga poses—a garland of yoga.  The Global Mala project unites the worldwide yoga community to form a mala around the planet coinciding with the autumn equinox, as an offering to further the United Nations International Peace Day.  Embark on the unbroken tradition of kundalini yoga with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa; 108 sun salutations hosted by Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Hala Khouri, and teachers from 108 southern California yoga studios/centers; sacred music with Donna De Lory, Govindas and Radha, Joey Lugassy, Saul David Raye, Suzanne Sterling, Wah!, and Wade Imre Morrissette; yoga trance dance ignited by Shiva Rea with DJ Dragonfly.  The evening concludes with kirtan—a blissful 108-repetition cycle of Om chanting with the members of the Global Mala Project Sacred Music Members.
